The Diaper Count

Add to the diaper count...one more Bummi's SSWW Cover, 12 more chinese prefolds, and one kissaluvs size 0. From the gushing on the web about the kissaluvs, I had to think they must be worth it. I am trying though to just buy one of the fancy fitted diapers at a time, because who knows what will work.

Things that Make Pregnant Me Cry #1

Hearing Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely" and knowing I'll feel that way in three months.

Having to roll over in the middle of the night.

Other people's birth stories.

FAT.

28 pounds. 10 pounds since August 30th. Either this baby is going be a big one, or I eat too many desserts.

I got tested for gestational diabetes today, so keep your fingers crossed that my Klondike bar habit won't need to be changed!

I knew those stupid wagon wheels would come in handy! 

I've almost finished the crib organizer, and will post a picture as soon as I pull out all the basting stiches, trim the threads that are hanging all over, and disguise the sloppy late night stitching on the binding with some blanket stitch with embroidery floss!

The combo of all those prints really really works!

The middle of me in the middle of the 25th week. I was in my office, waiting for a conference call to start..perfect time for a picture!

I think I need 12 more prefolds and one or two more covers. And then I will be done. I also have three packages of newborn disposables, just in case!

I got a list of child care providers today, and started to panic about money. Oh joy! I also have to start meeting pediatricians...which makes me worry about money too! After those two expenses, I think might have $125 a week left for paying bills and eating and gas. MUST. BREATHE.

Getting the sewing machine warmed up to make a quilt, crib bumpers, diaper stacker and organizer out of these funky monkeys, this batik, these polkie dots, and a swirly pink and orange!

I have gained more than twenty pounds. If I gain one pound a week from now to the end (15 weeks!) I will just hit the high end of recommended weight gain.

Chances of only gaining a pound a week? I'd say slim to none, but slim might not be the best word.

Diapers, Diapers, Diapers

Who knew the world of cloth diapers was so damn complicated!!

I've started my diaper purchasing. So far I have a dozen Indian prefolds coming my way. Along with three covers (a Bummi's Super Whisper wrap and two proraps classics), some pins and snappis (because I don't want to draw my own blood diapering Eva EVERY day), and two fuzzi buns with the microterry inserts.

I already have about five motherease snap diapers, some liners and covers for those and one motherease all in one.

I need probably a dozen more prefolds, a few more covers, and maybe I'll try some of the other pocket diapers and all in ones out there.

Still, the amount I'll be saving in the end is worth the expense now, I think!

As this blog devolves into a list of complaints, let me add...

My rib cage hurts
I don't have to pee all the time, but it comes on suddenly
My belly itches
My hands are swollen

But a co-worker offered to scratch my belly and rub lotion on it, too. (She can't help it, maternity nurse she was...)

She's discovered whole new parts of me to poke, the little minx!
