The little girl and I had our follow up ultrasound this morning and everything looks fine! The kidney issue is resolved and we were finally able to get some nice shots of her heart.

I feel like I am starting to make some progress in getting ready. I am now the proud owner of some VERY nice organic cloth diapers AND a sling, thanks to M and her sweet son J, who is every bit as cute as imagined. I also bought the first package of disposables. C- please make recommendations on that front!

This weekend I picked up a Baby Bundle bunting and some toys at a yard sale (from a mom I know. I passed up several skeevy looking baby items at the homes of strangers.) And this weekend, the Mom and I are doing some shopping and registering!

Finally! Someone asked me "Are you expecting?"

Followed by, "I hope so, because if you are not I will be really embarrassed!"

I was happy to tell her yes.

My friend S. is due four days after I am, and is having a boy. Which explains WHY I am knitting a blanket in blue! I am waiting for the yarn to arrive, so I can make THIS for Baby Eva.

The "Big" U/S

We had what is referred to as the "BIG" ultrasound today. Big because it takes an hour. We looked at the head, the eyes, the upper lip, the hands, the arm, the heart, the legs, the feet, and the internal organs. All is well! They will rescan at the end of the month, as one of the renal pelvises measured close to the max. guidelines size, which MIGHT indicated hyponephrosis, which MIGHT indicate blockage between the bladders and the kidneys. No one was too worried, and they tell me about one in 20 scans shows that and it usually resolves itself. So no need to worry.

Okay. Made you wait long enough. We are having a GIRL! (at least as far as one can tell...boys can be id'd with near 100% certainty, but girls can be tougher. The sonographer (who has to be one the more annoying folks in this world, by the way) said she could say with as much conviction as possible with a girl that that's what she is. So there. We both cried. And we are both a little scared, but are thrilled!

Now we are reconsidering our girl name...
