Knowledge is Power

Knowledge is power...the power not to panic! After an hour with our HR person, we determined that I should be able to take six weeks of paid leave once Baby Who is born. I can also probably add 2 unpaid weeks onto that, which means I only need to save the equivalent of one paycheck between now and then. For that purpose anyway.

Now we need to work on our budget to see if building this addition is even feasible. I tend to be a negative Nellie, but I can't afford another payment each month on top of health insurance for three and childcare. And I don't think Bill can either. But I don't think he sees that. I love that man of mine, but he's too optimistic sometimes.
